The $135 million Lump Sum project consists of the construction of approximately 250,000 m2 of new building over 5 levels. The Redevelopment Zone is an irregular shape comprising approximately 7.6ha and generally includes the existing RACV clubhouse facility, carpark (110 spaces) and golf driving range.

We look forward to again teaming up with SouthCentral following the successful delivery of multiple projects including the award winning RACV Torquay Resort, RACV City Club, RACV Royal Pines Day Spa and the RACV Cobram Resort. We are also currently delivering the Royal Pines Children’s Pool & Waterpark with SouthCentral in Queensland.

“Cast is the most valuable business resource we have EVER purchased. It really saves me time and effort. Cast is exactly what our business has been lacking. Just what I was looking for. Thank you for making it painless, pleasant and most of all hassle free!”
    – Meagan W, SouthCentral CEO.

Fibres were added to the clear resin to make it translucent enough to simultaneously cast patterns of shadow on the ground and allow dappled light through. The “petals” are reinforced with carbon fibre strands, expressed as a filigree pattern of veins.

The 2015 construction is open until 7 February 2016 after which it will be gifted to Melbourne and moved to a permanent location.

    Project Details

A recent commercial hotel outdoor swimming pool refurbishment. We were approached by the Hilton group to reduce their outdoor swimming pool depth from 2.4m at the deep end to 1.2m. We did this by extending the pipe work in the swimming pool which led back to the pump. We then laser measured all are new depths the whole way round the pool. Once we had are new level we then put in a steel frame across the whole floor made up of rebar and mesh. Access for the concrete pump was very restricted but was carefully driven into place and pumped over the greenhouse and outdoor changing areas. We used C35 grade concrete for a power float finish.

“Swimming pool depth reduction and refurbishment!”
    – Hilton Avisford Park.

Once the concrete had gone off we used a Laytex and 3 part resin finish around the floor and the sides The finishing the pool of in a 3 layer pool grade paint.

One of the biggest challenges on this job was the weather and some days it was too cold and damp and other days it was just to hot. We got over this by very early starts, as early as 4 o’clock to beat the sun coming up on some days.

A reinforced concrete base for an industrial machine. We start off by marking out the exact location of the pad for the machine. We then diamond cut around the edges and use a 5 ton JCB with concrete breaker to remove the existing concrete floor. The old concrete is then excavated and the sub ground removed. The depth of the new reinforced concrete pad is determined by what the ground is composed of underneath. This is all determined before hand by carrying out a geotechnical survey.

We then lay out and polythene the hole. Next the reinforced steel is laid out and all tied together. We then use a very high strength concrete with no added chemicals to fill the pad in. A concrete vibrator is used throughout the pouring process to help move the concrete and release all the air that builds up. We use hand tamping to give us a perfect level the whole way across the pad.

    – Meagan W, SouthCentral CEO.

Industrial machines work within very strict tolerances. To get the ultimate performance out of your machine a reinforced, strong, concrete pad is essential. These reinforced concrete pads, bases and plinths stop all movement of the machine and take away any risk of a standard concrete floor breaking up.

5 Dukes Court, Chichester. OKB Medical recently acquired this office block in the heart of Chichester. The office block needed a refresh and bring up to standard with rental regulations. After a consultation meeting on site with fire safety specialist Agate Fire Associates Safety, we started work on brining the property up to fire and health and safety standards. Firstly we installed a new emergency lighting system throughout and a new dedicated fire panel alarm system with smoke and heat detectors on each floor. A fire safety door was added to the kitchen area to protect the risk of fire to the stairwell area. Additionally fire extinguishers we added to each stairwell floor and a fire safety cabinet with all relevant information for the fire brigade, tenants & owners was installed.

All of the old fluorescent tube lights were removed and replaced with LED panel lights, which are a lower running cost and easier light on the eyes.

The whole block was completely re-decorated inside and out. Any rotten timbers were cut out and replaced and all old blown double glazed units replaced. Protective hedgehog guttering was installed to stop the clogging up of the down pipes.
